Surgix was established in 2007 by Barbara Peters and Gary Rogers. Barbara and Gary have a combined experience of over 40 years in the medical devices industry. They have worked with and supported teams in Urology, Gynaecology, Colorectal, Orthopaedics and Cardiology, for companies such as Device Technologies Australia, CR Bard, American Medical Systems, Femcare-Nikomed, Uroplasty and PNN Medical.

Barbara Peters

Barbara trained as a nurse in Liverpool before relocating to London where she qualified in renal and urology nursing at the Institute of Urology. Barbara then worked as a nurse for Croydon Community Healthcare Trust and also qualified as a district nurse.

Following her nursing career she worked for a short period as a financial planner for Acuma (The financial planning arm of American Express).

Barbara then moved into Medical device sales, where she excelled in sales and sales management. 
Barbara had success with Barnes Hygiene which was apart of the Countrywide care network, a distributor who sold a variety of products to the private healthcare market for companies like Huntleigh Healthcare, Bristol Maid & Molnyncke.

Barbara was then recruited by Bard Ltd for their Urology division where she earned many awards including Eagles club for outstanding sales for 4 years running and Directors club twice for on target sales for 5 consecutive years.  

Following outstanding success at Bard, Barbara then joined American Medical Systems where she successfully grew their implant business before briefly relocating to Australia. 

Upon Barbara's return to the UK, she joined Femcare-Nikomed where she won the Urology salesperson of the year before being promoted to Sales Manager. Barbara then set up Surgix in 2007 and has worked with companies including PNN Medical, American Medical Systems and Boston Scientific.

Barbara is results driven with both a clinical and sales background.

Gary Rogers


Gary began his career in medical device sales in the mid 1990s in Australia for Southern Surgical Distribution, a subsidiary of Device Technologies Australia. DTA is the largest independent medical device company in Australia & New Zealand, with devisions covering the full spectrum of medical devices including Aesthetics, Robotics, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Urology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, CSSD, Operating Theatre capital equipment & Cardio Thoracic.

Following outstanding sales success Gary was recruited by American Medical Systems in 2000 to run their Australia and Asia pacific region. Gary was tasked with initiating the transition from Agent representation to direct representation in the major territories in Australia whilst growing a strong Distributor network across Asia. This coincided with a period of organisational change as AMS were sold by Pfizer to a venture capital group. Gary's success at AMS was immediate and consistent. During his tenure Gary achieved multiple President's Club awards for International Manager of the year and Country of the year.

Gary relocated to the UK in mid 2003 and shortly afterwards joined Uroplasty Ltd as Director of Sales. Following success in reversing a two-year negative sales trend in his first year and sourcing a new product line, Gary was promoted to Managing Director, continuing the sales and product growth. Gary grew profit margins to record levels prior to streamlining the Uroplasty UK operational structure and then transitioning to Surgix full-time in August 2008.

Gary is experienced in sales & general management and product & team development processes for direct and distributor networks in the EU & Asia Pacific regions.
